We have waited and been patient for Victoria to come out of lockdown. Under current guidelines under18 contact outdoor sport is permitted and we hope this will be extended.
Finally, we expect that by January 2021 we will be given the green light to get out there and get back to sport and mixing with our peers in our home state.
Maccabi Victoria invites you to join us for a fun-filled sport @HOME Melbourne Carnival, held over four days, encapsulating all the same Junior Carnival - fun & games - just for Victorian kids.

Who is Junior Carnival for?
Junior Carnival is for any kids aged 12-17 from across the Victorian Jewish community. This year, due to COVID restrictions, we will be holding the event at Bialik College, just for Melbourne kids.
When is Junior Carnival 2021?
Starts Monday 18th January (morning) / Ends Thursday 21st January (late afternoon) – 4 fun-filled days of activity and one evening for an online National virtual event
What sort of sports program will there be during the days?
Subject to Covid we propose a program including the following sports:
Social Sports (eg Frisbee, Dodgeball etc)
We are hoping to be able to create a competitive stream and a social stream for those who are not as competitive.
Will there be evening activities?
We are hoping to be able to have some evening activities but this will depend on the COVID restrictions and we will not know until closer to the time. If we can arrange this safely there may be a small additional cost for attendance.
Will this event be COVID-safe?
Yes, all activities during Carnival will be Covid-safe, adhering to Victoria Health guidelines & safety policies and overseen and audited by appropriately qualified medics. Social distancing will be promoted, and limits set on number of people gathering in groups across designated areas in any given facility. Hand sanitiser and any other necessary PPE will be provided at all events.
What provisions are there for Security & Medical?
The security and health of all participants at Carnival is our top priority. Our events will protected by security (Bialik guards and CSG).
First Aid - There will be designated First Aid officers at all events and Hatzolah will be engaged. We will also have a designated doctor & physio on-call for any urgent situations that arise.
Hot weather policy – sports will be called off and kids will be supervised in an appropriate/cool environment, if conditions are deemed too hot.
Is all food provided Kosher?
Yes, all food and/or meals that are provided will be kosher.
How will my child be accommodated if they have special dietary requirements?
Any special dietary needs will be recorded and catered for, wherever food is being provided.
What if my child has special support needs?
We welcome kids of all abilities! Let us know if your child needs any extra support and we will work with you to understand more and look to accommodate this as best we can!

How much will it cost?
The cost will be $200pp which is heavily subsidised by the Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation. We have tried to keep all costs as low as possible and, this will cover all activities across the 4 days.
It is Maccabi policy that no child should miss out on Maccabi sporting activity or programs due to financial difficulties. Fee assistance is available, please reach out for a confidential follow up. Email:
Do participants need to buy/wear team uniforms?
No, given that there will only be Victoria participants for this event, and no interstate teams, participants will not need to wear state team uniforms. We will provide coloured bibs for sports.
What is the Refund policy?
If for any reason the Carnival cannot proceed as a result of COVID-19 conditions a full refund will be made. If cancelation is made prior to the event starting, we reserve the right to charge a small administration fee and or any costs incurred that cannot be avoided (e.g. catering costs).
